We are delighted to announce the recipients of our first Community Grants Program – the Glendi Festival and Townsville Western Pleasure and Performance Horse Club have both received a share in $20,000 funding.

Ross River Solar Farm Community Engagement Manager Hannah Willson said the Community Grants Program aimed to provide funding for local projects and initiatives that will benefit the community in the areas of participation, sustainability and safety.

‘As a local business with plans for long-term operations in the Townsville region, Ross River Solar Farm is committed to making a positive contribution the community.

Through the grants program, we are keen to support local initiatives that will make a real difference to the community – and I think our 2018 recipients are extremely worthy candidates.’

The Glendi Festival is a weekend-long celebration of Greek and Mediterranean culture – including food, music and dance – and aims to embrace and promote the diversity of culture in the region. The 2018 festival was a huge success, attracting over 20,000 people.

Grant funding for the Townsville Western Pleasure & Performance Horse Club will be used to upgrade the Barlett Park arena to ensure more people can participate in the sport as well as attend popular local events such as the rodeo.

Information about the 2019 Community Grants Program will be available soon.
